Tivy AFJROTC Holds Change of Watch Ceremony
Unit Flag Passed to New Senior AFJROTC Instructor,
Colonel Bobby Woods

Change of Watch

The TX 20063rd Tivy AFJROTC held a Change of Watch ceremony in the Tivy Library on Monday, November 20. A change of watch is a military tradition that represents a formal transfer of authority and responsibility for a unit from one commanding officer to another. The passing of colors, standards, or ensigns from the outgoing commander to the incoming one ensures the JROTC unit and its cadets are never without official leadership, a continuation of trust, and also signifies an allegiance of cadets to their unit's commander.

The unit flag was passed from CAPT Deborah Dombeck, USCG (ret) and CDR Ralph Lewis, USCG (ret) to the new Senior Aerospace Instructor, Col Bobby Woods, USAF (ret). Colonel Woods relieved CAPT Dombeck and CDR Lewis, interim Senior AFJROTC Instructors. Principal Shelby Balser presided over the ceremony.
